Cafe Ava

Cafe Ava is a coffee shop where, as soon as you walk in, you’re greeted by a cozy atmosphere filled with the rich aroma of coffee, people studying or spending time with friends and family, and soft Latin music playing in the background. In addition to its delicious coffee, the customer service was top-notch. When we sat down at one of the tables, we noticed that the lighting wasn’t too bright, which adds to the warm atmosphere, complemented by floral decorations.

According to an article by Wheree, “customers report that the space captivates with its colorful decor, artwork, Latin American music played regularly, and a cozy yet lively atmosphere that’s perfect for both relaxing and socializing. The venue is praised for its friendly staff and welcoming atmosphere, which help create a community-oriented environment.”

Atheneaum Library

My classmate and I had the opportunity to see this bookstore on Google; it looked spectacular in the photos, but actually visiting it in person was more than just spectacular—it felt like a trip back in time to ancient Greece. Every corner of the place left us in awe; its narrow aisles filled with books and softly lit, creating a warm and peaceful atmosphere. Plus, there wasn’t a single sound. In this bookstore, eating or having open drinks is prohibited. To sit at the desks located in certain parts of the bookstore, you must sign up for a membership.

According to research cited by Joshua Castro, Assistant Editor of Hawk Happenings, “Silence can significantly improve students’ academic performance.” However, those who wish to incorporate solitude into their study sessions should keep in mind that it isn’t suitable for everyone.” Which is perfect for people who really love silence.

MOTW coffee

At this café, we did notice a different vibe compared to the others, since it was more lively in the sense that as soon as we walked in, we could hear music playing a bit louder than at the other café and restaurant. But even though there were people there, there was no noise from people talking—quite the opposite, in fact: they were sitting quietly in front of their computers. We also smelled herbal scents, like tea, and it had pleasant views with natural sunlight streaming in, incredible service, and spacious areas for those who like to study in their own personal spaces.

According to the University of Florida, “Music is a way to process emotions and strengthen resolve when one feels overwhelmed. Many people turn to music they identify with, as it helps them cope with stress.” This suggests that, unlike other quieter, more peaceful places, a more active environment can serve as an escape from the quiet routine of daily life.
